What is scrip? Scrip is substitute money – gift certificates. How does this program help TWST raise money? You purchase a gift certificate at face value from Great Lake Scrip (GLS). Because GLS is so large, GLS can buy the gift cards at a discount. TWST pays GLS the discounted price of the gift certificate. TWST gets to keep the difference between the face value of the card and the discounted value. For example, Starbucks offers a 7% discount. I buy a $100 Starbucks gift card from GLS and TWST makes $7. Why is Scrip called “shopping cart fundraiser”? Scrip is called a “shopping cart fundraiser” because every family spends money on groceries, entertainment, travel, and clothing. These everyday purchases can be made with scrip. It doesn’t cost you a penny, and it generates DOLLARS for TWST. Why should YOU participate? As you all know, TWST has many equipment needs and is positioning itself to meet future facility needs. Every dollar counts. How Do I Participate? The program will start in October. An email will announce the official start date. TWST will place an order every week with GLS. However, if the team order is less than $500, the order will be deferred until the next week. You will be notified by email if that occurs. Once we are set up to order, you will go to ShoppingwithScrip.com and place your order. You will print off your order and place the order and a check or cash in the Scrips Collection box located in the coaches’ office by Thursday, 7 p.m. DO NOT PUT SCRIPS ORDERS IN THE MEET ENTRY BOX. The group coordinator will accumulate all the orders and place the TWST order. You will pick up your order at the WAC on the following Monday (10 days after the order collection date). For example, if orders are collected on Thursday, Oct. 18th, your order will be picked up at the WAC on Monday, Oct. 29th. What can I do right now? Fill out an authorization form. This form will designate who can pick up your scrips order. Go to glscrip.com and check out all the vendors and their discount percentages. Start planning your purchases. Think about CHRISTMAS! Order all those gift cards through Scrips and make money for TWST.
